Regional Setting
East China Township is located in Michigan's southeastern lower peninsula in the extreme eastern portion of St. Clair County.
Special Features
Three major resources exist within the Township; the St. Clair, Belle and Pine Rivers. These rivers are some of the most well defined physical features of the Township. The St. Clair River is a major commercial shipping channel which runs between Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair. Thus, communities fronting on the St. Clair River have access to all of the ports along the great lakes. Aside from its use for private recreation, the river, as a transportation resource, also provides the Township with a major generator of industrial activity. The Pine and Belle Rivers are both tributaries of the St. Clair River that weave through the Township.
